Very pretty long earrings, crafted in solid silver, in the shape of fish, entirely hallmarked freehand and patinated.
The fish, in Asia and for many other civilizations, is a symbol of fertility, fecundity, abundance and prosperity. It is also often served to the newlyweds during the wedding meal among the ethnic groups of the golden triangle. "Its representation as a pair is the most common and comes from India. The two fish originally represented the two Indian rivers, the Ganga and the Yamuna. It is also one of the eight Buddhist symbols, ashtamangala, associated with fertility and freedom from suffering".
