Silver Hmong padlock necklace N°81
Handcrafted necklace in solid silver, composed of a thick link in waxed cotton macramé on which are passed artisanal beads in solid silver, and a pendant in the shape of a padlock, hallmarked freehand of tribal and floral motifs. The patina accentuates the ancestral side of this highly spiritual jewel.
The Hmong padlock: for the Hmong, or Miao, as they are called in China, the body of a healthy person has several souls. During an illness, physical or psychological, it is one or more souls that move away from the body. After a soul-calling ceremony, the shaman then hands over a padlock that retains the soul, thus protecting the person wearing it.
