Magnificent and rare artisanal necklace in solid silver, composed of a thick macramé link of waxed cotton threads over which are passed artisanal beads in solid silver, and a superb pendant in the shape of a padlock, adorned with tribal motifs stamped with raised hand. The patina reveals the work of the craftsman and reinforces the ancestral side of this highly spiritual jewel.
For the Hmong, or Miao, the body of a healthy person has several souls. During an illness, physical or psychological, it is one or more souls that move away from the body, which can lead to death. After a soul calling ceremony, the shaman then hands over a padlock which retains the soul and thus protects the person wearing it.
