Hello Sabine, The emerging black can come from the patina of the jewelry. We always clean them before sending them but the patina can remain. You can make this patina go by rubbing the ring with a stainless steel scroll ball and washing up liquid. The more you wear your ring, the more beautiful and shiny it will be. It is beautiful, I am absolutely not disappointed with my purchase. I had spotted that on the site a comment indicated that it was shorter than in the photo. I think it depends on the size of your finger. In my case I chose to wear it on the major which is 8 cm long and the ring is 3 cm long, so for me it's ok, longer it might have embarrassed me. Conclusion I am delighted with my purchase, I recommend itsara jewelry
