This authentic necklace is a real traditional craft piece, fully shaped by hand in solid silver according to the ancestral techniques of the golden triangle ethnic groups. Its rare pendant represents a Sacred symbol of Hmong culture, known as evocative of Cadenas of the soul.

🌀 A protective talisman at the heart of hmong beliefs
The Hmong, an animist people of Southeast Asia, have an intimate relationship with the world of minds. According to their beliefs, each healthy person houses several souls. When one of them gets lost, it can cause physical or psychological disease. The higher the number of souls, the greater the suffering.

In these cases, we call on a shaman, who guides a Ceremony of the soul. Once the soul (s) have returned to the body, the ritual ends with a strong gesture: The shaman places around the person's neck a silver chain sealed by a pendant - the gift of the soul - supposed to retain souls and ensure their protection.

🌏 A unique piece from the Asian mountains
The Hmong live mainly in the mountainous regions of northern Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and southern China (where they are also called Miao). Their culture is renowned for its artisanal wealth - embroidery, natural dyes, batik - and for their sumptuous jewelry with powerful symbols, transmitted from generation to generation.

The Hmong padlock:

For Hmong, or Miao, the body of a healthy person has several souls. During an illness, physical or psychological, it is one or more souls which move away from the body, which can lead to death. After a ceremony of calling the soul, the shaman then gives a padlock that holds the soul and thus protects the person who carries it.
