For over 20 years, we have been travelling the roads of Asia, encountering fascinating cultures, ancestral crafts, and the age-old stories they convey.

This is where Itsara was born: a story of love, travel, freedom — and meaningful jewellery

From 2003, Isabelle and Léonel travelled together on the roads of Asia.

They discovered Nepal, Burma, Laos... and always Thailand, off the beaten track.

Culture, history, cuisine, encounters — Everything amazed them.

They live in a caravan and, in the summer, sell handmade cotton, linen, and hemp clothing from the Issan region (Northeastern Thailand) at markets in the South of France.

During their travels, an encounter overturns their trajectory and tells them about pure silver jewelry made by the Karen tribe, in a village 100 km from Chiang Mai.

There, they discover reproductions of traditional jewelry from the Golden Triangle.

It’s love at first sight.

We never wanted to do conventional importing.
We spend time in villages, with artisans, we exchange, we observe, we learn.

This human and sincere connection is at the heart of Itsara.
