This solid silver necklace, entirely handcrafted, takes the imposing and symbolic form of a traditional Hmong padlock. Suspended from a silver chain, this pendant is an ancient ritual object, worn during healing ceremonies in Hmong communities.

In this Southeast Asian culture, it is believed that each human being possesses several souls. When an illness occurs – whether physical or psychological – it is sometimes a sign that one of them has strayed. To bring back and retain these souls, shamans perform a sacred ritual, the "soul calling," after which a silver padlock is placed on the person concerned. It seals their return, ensures their maintenance with the body, and protects the person.

Necklace No. 08 perpetuates this millennia-old tradition. More than just a piece of jewelry, it is a talisman, a symbol of protection, grounding, and care. Its raw form, patina, and freehand drawings reveal the imprint of artisanal craftsmanship and give full power to this rare piece.
